Once more, another Thanksgiving card becomes a great November birthday card. The retired Autumn Splendor stamp set strikes again.
This card was made using one of the retired Stampin’ Up! texturz plates on Cajun Craze card stock to achieve a grain type texture to the card. Our new Woodgrain Embossing Folder will do the trick now. The card base is Chocolate Chip card stock with the Cajun Craze layered on top, after being torn and then sponged with Chocolate Chip ink to give it a more “woodsy” feel and inserting a brad for fun. The Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch was punched just once in the middle of the Chocolate Chip rectangle to add a bit of interest, and then Happy Birthday was stamped on Very Vanilla card stock and layered on the piece. The leaves were stamped on Very Vanilla card stock using three different colored markers, coloring directly on the rubber stamp. They were then cut out and attached with Dimensionals.
When using markers directly on your rubber stamp, the markers dry quickly. Remember when you were young and used to “huff” on the car windows to draw hearts (at least that’s what I usually drew) on the glass. Do a little “huffing” on your stamp and this adds a bit of moisture and will give you a better stamped image.
