Before I show you the card I made using some of my retiring product, I just want to remind you about my Open House on Saturday, June 8, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Drop by any time and pick up your new catalog. We will also be doing one quick Make n’ Take card using a new stamp set, embossing folder and punch.There will also be hourly drawings for goodies, and I will be available to demonstrate products or tools you may have questions on. I’m looking forward to seeing you on the 8th. Oh, and there will be chocolate, of course!
Now on to the card. The gals who attended my 10 Card Buffet will see how I used our basic template and changed the colors, ribbons and Designer Series Paper to give a new look to the card we made in class.
We used the Pop-Up Posies Designer Kit from the Spring catalog in our class several different ways, and I still had a few of the leftovers from the kit that I was determined to use. I went over to my retired product table and found a sheet of Designer Series Paper from the Well Worn paper pack and also located some old corduroy Basic Gray brads from several years ago. Perfect!
I layered Basic Gray card stock on a Crumb Cake card base and then adhered my Designer Series Paper to that. I attached the label from the Pop-Up Posies Kit next. I also took a couple of the cupcake-like liners from the same kit, flattened and stretched them a bit, and inserted my brad through the middle. Out came some black and kraft retired ribbon from years gone by, and then everything was adhered to my card. I have left the label blank and will probably emboss my sentiment with Black Embossing Powder when the time comes to use this card.
One other reminder, the new catalog goes live on Friday, May 31. Anyone placing an order with me on or before May 31 and uses my Hostess Code TGRX27PC will receive a small gift from me in the mail. You can order on-line or contact me directly with your order. If you are planning on ordering on-line, the Stampin’ Up! website will be down from midnight of the 31st through noon, to allow the techs time to add all of the new product from the 2013-2014 Annual Catalog. New product can also be ordered on the 31st after noon. Just a reminder, though, the Spring catalog items will no longer be available after May 31, unless they have made it into the new annual catalog.
