I love this great little brag book. I have made several and they are quick and easy. Splitcoaststampers is the place to go for the tutorial on the Clear Envelope Brag Book. I needed a quick gift for a retirement party.
The inspiration for my design came from a United Kingdom demonstrator by the name of Nicky Dexter. Check out her blog. I, of course, changed a few things to work with my supplies. I started with a Chocolate Chip card stock base and then added Crumb Cake card stock. I stamped the Hardwood stamp using Whisper White ink and then embossed it with White Embossing Powder. I then stamped the tree from the always-popular Lovely as a Tree stamp set in Chocolate Chip on Naturals Ivory card stock.
I colored in the tree using my blender pens and the smushed ink in the top of the ink pads for the fall foliage effect. You know what I’m talking about — squeezing the ink pads when closed and then opening them and dipping your blender pen in the ink smushed on the top of the lid.
Next was a little bit of layering and linen thread and ribbon, along with the Happy Retirement from Teeny Tiny Wishes, which was punched with the Word Window punch and Modern Label punch. Both of these punches are on the retiring list this year.I
I used a lot of retired product on this project. Just a reminder — it’s still a fantastic product even if it’s retired from Stampin’ Up!
Keep Thinkin’ Inkin’!
