Tea Time Trinkets

The Tea Time Trinkets were just too cute for me to pass up. They are featured on Page 3 of the 25th Anniversary Spring Catalog. We will be using them in my April Spring Fling class also, but here is another card I designed with the trinkets.

I still think this card needs a little something more, but it’s beginning to grow on me. Here we go:

  • I started with a tone-on-tone color. I ran a piece of Crumb Cake card stock (CS) through the Big Shot using the Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder.
  • I cut one of the Tea Lace Paper Doilies in half and sponged it with Crumb Cake ink to give it a more antique color. It was attached to the embossed piece.
  • Next I stamped the butterfly from the Papillon Potpourri stamp set in Cherry Cobbler on Very Vanilla CS and punched it out with the Elegant Butterfly Punch. I put a Pearl Basic Jewel on the butterfly. I also punched out the Curly Label from Cherry Cobbler CS and attached my butterfly to it using Dimensionals.
  • Next came the Hearts a Flutter Framelits. One framelit was used with Cherry Cobbler CS and another framelit was used with the First Edition Designer Series Paper (DSP). I sponged the DSP with Cherry Cobbler using a Sponge Dauber and attached both pieces together. I then took one of the Vanilla Flower Trim flowers and dabbed it on the Cherry Cobbler ink pad to give it some color and attached it to the tag.
  • I took a piece of our retired natural twine and attached it to the back of my embossed piece on one side. I tied a bow from the Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding and added a Vintage Button to the top. I adhered this to the card over the piece of twine.
  • I punched holes in my two tags using the Hand-held 1/16″ Circle Punch and threaded the butterfly tag through next on my twine. I tied a simple knot in the twine and slid my Tea Time Trinket on and tied another knot, simply to hold my trinket in place. Next the flower tag was slipped on the twine and the end of the twine was secured to the back of the embossed piece.
  • I finallay attached this entire piece to a Crumb Cake card base. (Tip: I really like to use my Multipurpose Liquid Glue when attaching an embossed piece to a card. It leaves the embossing portion intact and adheres very nicely.)

With Valentine’s Day right around the corner, I’ve been busy making up little packets of goodies for neighbors and friends. You’ve seen my M&Ms in the 1″ x 8″ cellophane bags.

I also made a few bags of my chocolate pretzel M&Ms. They are fun and easy, and who doesn’t love a little salty and sweet!

I used the Ciao, Baby stamp set in the Spring catalog (Page 16), along with the Curly Lable Punch and the wonderful little Sale-a-bration Petite Curly Label Punch for the tag.

Oh, and if you would like recipe for the pretzel goodies, here it is. Set your oven for 250 degrees. Spread the round pretzels on a cookie tray and lay your chocolate kisses on top. The hard part is unwrapping all of those kisses! In the oven they go for 3 minutes. Pull them out and press your M&Ms down on the middle of the kisses. Pop them in the freezer for some quick setting of the chocolate and you’re done.
