Extreme Elements Tag

I made this quick tag with Stampin’ Up!’s retired stamp set Extreme Elements. We have a new stamp set called Clockworks that would also be a great set to substitute for this retired set.

BD Tag

I stamped the splotches in Crumb Cake on a piece of Whisper White card stock. I then took my Early Espresso stamp pad and dragged the edges of the tag over the pad. The happy birthday came from the Wacky Wishes stamp set and was also stamped in Early Espresso. When this was done, I attached a lottery ticket to the bottom of the tag. Hopefully it’s a big winner!

I know I promised you a card using my mom’s birthday card as a sample. Well, this morning I realized I had forgotten a couple of things — like my nephew N.’s and my husband’s birthdays. That’s where the “ooops” comes in.

I can assure you my nephew isn’t surprised his gift and card are late. It’s general knowledge that nobody gets a card on time from me. I do wish Stampin’ Up! had more stamps with the word “belated” in the birthday wishes!

Anyway, here is the card I quickly made for both hubby and nephew. I’m pretty sure my nephew never looks at my blog, and I can count on his mom for secrecy; so it will still be a surprise for him. Frankly, I know it’s the money in the card and not the card itself that he’s interested in! Not dissin’ on you, N., but I’m pretty smart about these things.

Here is the how-to:

  • I pulled out the Extreme Elements stamp set and stamped the splotch in Lucky Limeade on Whisper White card stock.
  • I next swiped my Embossing Buddy over the card stock and stamped the car from Need for Speed and the “You Rock” from a retired set called Just Jawin’ with the Versamark pad. I embossed them both with Basic Black Embossing Powder.
  • I used my Simply Scored Diagonal Scoring Tool and scored a diagonal line on both the Whisper White and Lucky Limeade card stock. I folded down the corners, placed the Whisper White on the Lucky Limeade card stock, and inserted a black brad from Stampin’ Up!’s Natural Brads.
  • Finally, I attached the whole kit and caboodle (I just love saying that!) to the Basic Black card base. Quick, easy, and great for guys of all ages!

Hope you like this card as well as the one I was going to show you. Check back later to see what I did with my mom’s template!
