Foil Heart Valentine

This project was a card I saw last year somewhere on-line and loved it. By the time it had caught my eye, Valentine’s Day was over and it got stuck in a file. I’ve been doing some cleaning in my craft area and this made its way to the surface.

Foil Heart 002

The first thing you need to do is take a piece of card stock and wrap your kitchen foil around it. I used Whisper White but I thought it was a little too lightweight; so I would suggest you use Basic Gray card stock for this part.

I just laid the foil down so that the dull side of the foil will show on the finished card. I wasn’t going for the shiny look. Just wrap your foil around the edges of the card stock and adhere down.

Next I ran my foiled piece through the Big Shot using the Chevron Embossing Folder. The card base is Basic Black, and I placed a piece of Real Red card stock on it, after sponging the edges of the Real Red with Basic Black ink.. I inserted silver brads in each corner of my foil piece and attached this piece to the card at an angle.

I used the Full Heart Punch and punched out a heart from Real Red card stock and again sponged the edges. I placed another silver brad in the heart and attached it to my card using Dimensionals. I stamped my sentiment from the Teeny Tiny Wishes set, tore around the edges and sponged them also. I took my bone folder and curled this piece a little bit to give it some dimension when I placed it on the card.

My husband will be so surprised he’s actually receiving a hand-made card from me on Valentine’s Day!

My Little Valentine and Simply Sent Plus the Valentine Treat Bundle

Wow, the day has finally arrived. The Spring catalog goes live and Stampin’ Up! has a couple of nice Valentine bundles available from January 3rd until January 21st. Let’s start with the My Little Valentine stamp set.
My Little Valentine

You can purchase the My Little Valentine stamp set (available in Clear Mount only) for $9.95 and receive the Sealed with Love Simply Sent kit (priced at $7.95) for FREE.

Simply Sent 4

This Simply Sent kit was shown in the Holiday catalog on Page 35. This is a fun and quick way to send a note to one of your favorite valentines. I made one up and added the “for you” from the My Little Valentine stamp set. I stamped it in Real Red and then punched it out using our 3/4″ x 15/16″ Oval Punch. Of course, this is just the outside. The inside contains the cute little notecard shown above. The kit also comes with Dimensionals, Baker’s Twine, and the chipboard flowers to wrap the twine around.

Next comes the Valentine Treat Bundle. This bundle includes the Happy Valentine Heart single stamp and a package of 1″ x 8″ cellophane bags for the special bundle price of $5.95.

Happy Valentine Heart

This stamp fits perfectly inside our Full Heart Punch. I made these treat bag toppers using the Cherry Cobbler Embossing Powder and then punched the heart out. I used one of our Hearts Collection Framelits to layer my punched heart on. I added a Rhinestone Jewel to the heart for my bling.

Happy Valentine M&M

One of the things I love about these cellophane bags is the self-adhesive they have at the top for closing up your goodies. Keep in mind my classes on January 18th or 19th where you can see these projects and more up close and personal from the Spring catalog.

I received a card in a swap a long time ago that I thought was just too cute. It was definitely time to try my version of the card.

This card was made using the Full Heart Punch, folding the heart tip down to make a purse. I added the In Color Brads for the clasp and Whisper White 1/4″ Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon for the handle. The fabulous new Finishing Touches Edgelit added the cute border. The card base is Wisteria Wonder and then Elegant Eggplant is the coordinating color, along with the In Color Designer Series Paper. I chose “a gift for you” from the Bring on the Cake stamp set. Of course, you know that there will have to be a gift card placed inside with all of those cute little purses on the front!
