Before I show you the card I made using some of my retiring product, I just want to remind you about my Open House on Saturday, June 8, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Drop by any time and pick up your new catalog. We will also be doing one quick Make n’ Take card using a new stamp set, embossing folder and punch. There will also be hourly drawings for goodies, and I will be available to demonstrate products or tools you may have questions on. I’m looking forward to seeing you on the 8th. Oh, and there will be chocolate, of course!
Now on to the card. The gals who attended my 10 Card Buffet will see how I used our basic template and changed the colors, ribbons and Designer Series Paper to give a new look to the card we made in class.
We used the Pop-Up Posies Designer Kit from the Spring catalog in our class several different ways, and I still had a few of the leftovers from the kit that I was determined to use. I went over to my retired product table and found a sheet of Designer Series Paper from the Well Worn paper pack and also located some old corduroy Basic Gray brads from several years ago. Perfect!
I layered Basic Gray card stock on a Crumb Cake card base and then adhered my Designer Series Paper to that. I attached the label from the Pop-Up Posies Kit next. I also took a couple of the cupcake-like liners from the same kit, flattened and stretched them a bit, and inserted my brad through the middle. Out came some black and kraft retired ribbon from years gone by, and then everything was adhered to my card. I have left the label blank and will probably emboss my sentiment with Black Embossing Powder when the time comes to use this card.
One other reminder, the new catalog goes live on Friday, May 31. Anyone placing an order with me on or before May 31 and uses my Hostess Code TGRX27PC will receive a small gift from me in the mail. You can order on-line or contact me directly with your order. If you are planning on ordering on-line, the Stampin’ Up! website will be down from midnight of the 31st through noon, to allow the techs time to add all of the new product from the 2013-2014 Annual Catalog. New product can also be ordered on the 31st after noon. Just a reminder, though, the Spring catalog items will no longer be available after May 31, unless they have made it into the new annual catalog.
Keep Thinkin’ Inkin’!
Yesterday I showed you a card from way back when, with the promise of a new creation from basically the same layout. Here it is!
I thought I would use some of the leftover flowers and brads from the Pop-Up Posies Kit. I have really loved this kit and I can’t believe the number of cards and 3-D projects I have made from one kit. I still have a few more pieces to use, so you might see some of those in the days to come. You can see this kit and all the details on Page 18 of the Spring catalog. The kit is the piece in the middle of the photo below and also contains a stamp that is not pictured.
The new card I created also used Island Indigo and Pool Party card stock. The Designer Series Paper is Sycamore Street and the stamp is from the Vintage Verses set. Both of these items are FREE and available from our Sale-a-bration brochure with a $50 product order. I also added a piece of the Calypso Coral Ruffled Ribbon to the card. I’m sure you can see how I took the basic layout of the original card and used it to lay out my new one. Try it for yourself and e-mail me your creation!
We had a great time at my Stamp Class this last weekend. We worked our way through several projects using some of the fun items in both the Spring and Sale-a-bration catalogs. Although I can’t show you the actual projects we made, since those are exclusive to the gals attending the class, I can show you one of the items I whipped up using some of the Pop-Up Posies Kit products.
I love the Fancy Favor die, and that’s what I started with. The bag is cut from a piece of 6″ x 12″ Chocolate Chip card stock using the die. I took the label from the Pop-Up Posies kit and stamped the “Just for you” in Versamark and embossed it with Clear Embossing Powder. I attached it to my assembled Fancy Favor bag. I punched two holes in the top of the bag to thread my Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding Ribbon through and tied a bow.
Now for the fun part. I took a few of the Very Vanilla little cupcake type holders from the Pop-Up Posies kit, layered them, and kind of flattened them out. I then ran one of the small Soda Pop Tops from the Spring catalog through the Big Shot to flatten it. I added a 1/2″ Circle punch of Very Vanilla card stock to the pop top. Next came the Fashionable Hearts Embosslit with Cherry Cobbler card stock inside. I used the smallest heart and placed it on my “Just for you” embossed piece. The next heart I placed on the pop top, along with one of our Jewel Rhinestones. The entire pop top went in the Very Vanilla “flower” and I placed it on the Fancy Favor bag below the ribbon.
Hope you enjoyed this cute bag, and I would love to see you at my next Stamp Club or Stamp Class, where you can have hands-on fun with some of these wonderful Stampin’ Up! items!
