Thoughts and Prayers Vellum

I’m doing some major cleaning as I prepare for Stampin’ Up!’s retiring stamp set and accessories list coming out next week. I am pulling out punches and dies and paper and ribbons, etc., that are still great but are in need of a new home. I can’t wait for you to see all of the fun stuff you can pick up at my Open House in June at greatly reduced prices. Anyway, as I was cleaning, I came across a piece of Vellum card stock that I had run through the Manhattan Flower Embossing Folder to show someone and had absently tossed in a drawer.

Thoughts & Prayers

I couldn’t just throw it away because I love that folder and those flowers. I brought out my Raspberry Ripple ink pad and proceeded to sponge the back of my vellum. I loved how it was turning out. I flipped it over and sponged a little bit more color in the middle of the flowers to give them a little more depth. I cut around the top of the embossed area and added it to a piece of Whisper White card stock that had “Sharing in your sorrow” stamped on it in Raspberry Ripple in the upper right-hand corner from the Thoughts and Prayers stamp set. This entire piece was placed on a Raspberry Ripple card base, and then the Large Basic Pearls were adhered to the flowers.

As you know, the trick with vellum is being able to adhere it without seeing where you put the adhesive. In this case I put several Mini Glue Dots behind the pearls and it worked perfectly! This card is much prettier in person. Keep Thinkin’ Inkin’!

Sympathy Papillon Potpourri

As I was working on my card I posted yesterday, I had quite a few false starts. I salvaged some of the pieces and made this sympathy card.
Sympath Butterfly

The card basically started with the same premise. I just added the Apothecary Accents Framelits to the card and embossed the sentiment in Basic Black from the Thoughts and Prayers stamp set.  I still needed my butterfly stamped in Cherry Cobbler from the Papillon Potpourri set to finish it off. Keep Thinkin’ Inkin’!
